This bank’s digital banking growth was constrained by identity complexity across legacy systems and newer application experiences. Core platforms, including LDAP, mainframe-related environments, and banking applications, remained deeply embedded in daily operations, making it difficult to modernize access without disrupting systems that customers and internal teams still depended on. As new applications were introduced, users risked facing separate credential requirements, repeated registration steps, and inconsistent login flows.
At the same time, the organization needed to support modern web and mobile banking expectations while avoiding downtime, costly migration work, and added burden on a limited internal IAM team. With only a small number of people focused on identity as part of broader responsibilities, each rollout carried operational complexity. The bank needed a way to reduce customer friction, simplify application onboarding, and connect legacy infrastructure to a modern identity direction without interrupting active banking services.
Solution
We worked with the bank through discovery, scoping, and workshop sessions to understand how its legacy banking platforms, existing identity tools, and new digital application needs fit together. The objective was to create a practical path for modern authorization while preserving the systems already supporting day-to-day banking operations.
Discovery and Architecture Workshops
BeyondID led planning and design workshops to assess the bank’s existing infrastructure, application dependencies, and modernization goals helping define how legacy systems could connect to a modern authorization strategy.
Legacy Banking Platform Integration
Through AIG, BeyondID helped connect legacy infrastructure, including LDAP, mainframe-related systems, and core banking platforms, to the bank’s Okta-based identity strategy. This allowed the bank to preserve technology that would have been expensive and disruptive to migrate while still enabling modern access.
Okta Credential-Based Access
The solution enabled users to access downstream banking platforms with their Okta credentials instead of managing separate credentials across applications. This helped reduce registration friction as new applications were introduced.
Support Across Workforce and Customer Identity
BeyondID supported identity modernization across workforce identity and customer identity use cases, helping the bank align WIAM, CIAM, Okta, and AIG into a more connected access model. This gave the organization a stronger foundation for both internal access and customer-facing web and mobile banking experiences.
