Helpful, Responsible and Devoted
What is a fun or interesting fact about yourself?
I prefer to play “Warcraft III: Frozen Throne” during the vacations. Once I played for 2 days straight without getting out of my room. “Clash of Clans” is one of my favorites these days.
Outside of work? Passions, hobbies, interests?
I spend time with my little ones – riding bikes into the wild with friends or doing any adventurous activity. While at home, I watch movies and mostly TV shows. “The Family Man”, “Game of Thrones” and “The Good Doctor” are few of my favorites. Over the last few years, I have been actively involved in blood donation for a good cause and it has been like a hobby for me. It also helps support “BeyondID 4 Good” and the blood donation drive this year.
If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?
I would book an entire stadium and invite all my friends to see “Adele” perform “Rolling in the deep”.
What do you do to de-stress?
Generally, I take a power nap or watch some comic videos.
What’s your favorite quote from a TV show/movie/book?
“I’ll be back.” from the movie “Terminator.” Classic!
What’s something – big or small – that you’re really bad at?
I hope I never have to dance! Not something I have mastered.
Do you still live near where you grew up? Why or why not?
I live far away from where I grew up for my career opportunities. I miss my parents though and always try to visit during the holidays and festivals.
If you could only eat one dish for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It will be “MoMos” – A Nepalese favorite!
What was your first job?
It was in Hardware & Networking for a technology company.
Briefly describe your career prior to BID?
In my early days, due to lack of opportunities, I worked as a network engineer for more than a year. Finally, I got hired as a junior developer at a software company. My passion for coding helped me to excel to Senior Developer. During that period, had some great mentors who helped me build some great products like ERP’s, Job Portals, Accounting Systems and more.
What was your favorite subject in high school or college?
Same then as it is now, math and physics.
What is the key to achieving success in your role?
I believe time management is the key to achieving success as a developer because once you get familiar with all the aspects of an application development, one must be able to manage time. Without it, one cannot multitask, which is a very important factor for an individual growth in this industry.
What topic could you give an hour-long presentation on with little to no preparation?
Lifecycles of an application.
If you could change one thing about your job, what would it be?
I’d like to add “IOS development languages” to my tech stack.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever heard?
I still remember my mentor telling me “nobody is going to do it for you but yourself”.
What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?
I am currently preparing for “Okta Consultant Certification”.
What’s different about BID’s culture versus other companies you’ve worked at?
I have worked for more than half a dozen companies but the major difference I find here and what I really like is the flexible work culture here at BID. Everyone is accessible and very helpful as well.
Which BeyondID Core Value do you exhibit the most in work and life? Can you provide an example? {Integrity, Innovation, Growth & Raving Fan}
Out of all the core values I believe I exhibit “Integrity” the most.
While working on clients’ projects, if I have an abundance of tasks to complete and I feel as though the deadline needs to be met, I will recruit help or assign the tasks to other team members. In this way the goal of task completion cannot be compromised, and the project can proceed in a forward direction. This brings forth the integrity of teamwork.
When it comes to BeyondID Principles, which ones resonate with you the most?
One of the principles that resonates with me is “Make Complexity Simple”. I remember some challenging times when I was stuck on part of a project. The first thing I do is break it down and begin with the smaller ones until all is complete. Believe me, it always works in accomplishing the final goal.
