Professional Questions
What originally got you interested in your current field of work?

My interest in solution architecture stemmed from my passion for solving complex problems and my fascination with how technology can drive business transformation. Early in my career, I saw how the right technology solutions could streamline operations, enhance customer experiences, and reduce risks. This sparked a desire to dive deeper into creating strategic solutions that bridge the gap between business needs and technical possibilities. Over time, projects like the CIS to CIC transformation and fraud prevention systems solidified my passion for innovation, where I could see firsthand how impactful the right solution can be in transforming businesses.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

What I enjoy most about my role as a solution architect is the opportunity to design and implement innovative solutions that solve complex business challenges. I love being able to connect the dots between technology and business objectives, whether it’s transforming customer-facing processes like CIS to CIC or developing fraud prevention and tenant management systems. Seeing a vision come to life, exceeding client expectations, and driving tangible impact through technology are the most rewarding aspects of my work. The constant learning and creative problem-solving keep me engaged and motivated.

What is the key to achieving success in your role?

The key to achieving success in my role as a solution architect is a balance of technical expertise, business acumen, and strong communication. It’s essential to deeply understand both the client’s needs and the technology landscape to craft solutions that are innovative, scalable, and aligned with strategic goals. Collaboration is also crucial — working closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders ensures that everyone is aligned and working towards the same outcome. Additionally, staying adaptable and continuously learning is vital, as technology evolves rapidly. Ultimately, success comes from delivering solutions that not only meet but exceed expectations, as I’ve experienced with projects like our CIS to CIC transformation and fraud prevention solutions.

What’s the career highlight you’re most proud of?

The career highlights I’m most proud of is successfully leading a major digital transformation project that not only met but exceeded client expectations. This experience reinforced my passion for driving meaningful change and innovation. Being selected for the President’s Club in both 2022 and 2024 was a testament to the hard work and dedication I’ve put into my career. Additionally, leading innovative solutions such as CIS to CIC transformation, fraud prevention strategies, and tenant management solutions has allowed me to create lasting value for both clients and my teams.

Which BeyondID Core Value do you exhibit the most in work and life? Can you provide an example?

Innovation. I’m constantly seeking out ways to push boundaries and create solutions that are not only effective but also forward-thinking. A prime example is the CIS to CIC transformation project I led, which involved reimagining traditional systems to deliver a more agile and efficient process for the client. Whether it’s developing fraud prevention strategies or tenant management solutions, I strive to bring fresh, creative ideas to every project, ensuring that we stay ahead of the curve and consistently exceed expectations

When it comes to BeyondID Principles, which ones resonate with you the most?

It’s Now and It’s Always Day 1. This principle embodies a mindset of constant innovation and urgency, which aligns with my approach to solution architecture. Whether I’m leading a major digital transformation or implementing cutting-edge solutions like fraud prevention and tenant management, I believe in acting with the agility and curiosity of day 1. It’s about staying ahead of the curve, continuously learning, and never becoming complacent. Professional Questions
Briefly describe your career prior to BID?

Before joining BeyondID, I worked as an HR Business Partner.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

Helping others has always been a passion of mine, so I find great satisfaction in connecting with employees, understanding their needs, and assist in every way possible to enhance their work experience.

What is the key to achieving success in your role?

The key to achieving success in my role lies in making thoughtful decisions, taking ownership of tasks, and, most importantly, being patient, compassionate, and attentive to others.

What’s the career highlight you’re most proud of?

The career highlights I’m most proud of is being a two-time President’s Club winner for consecutive years and having an application named after me (“Hey! Sruthi”).

What’s the biggest misconception people have about your position?

I’m not sure if it’s due to my position or my personality, but many employees see me as a one-stop solution for their questions or concerns, whether they relate to HR or not. I believe it can be challenging to earn that level of trust from them.

Values & Principles
Which BeyondID Core Value do you exhibit the most in work and life? Can you provide an example?

Integrity. As a member of the People/HR team, I handle several highly confidential matters while striving to uphold honesty & commitment. Being recognized as a two-time President’s Club winner in the ‘Integrity’ category is a testament to my commitment to this core value.

When it comes to BeyondID Principles, which ones resonate with you the most?

How would your friends describe you?

My friends would describe me as persistent, ambitious, positive, kind, thoughtful, and fun. But if you ask my friend Dawn, she’d probably add “the sober one” to that list — she likes to tease me about always being the responsible one in the group!

If you won the lottery, what would you do with the money?

Winning the lottery is a fun thought exercise! If I were to win, I would donate a significant portion to causes close to my heart — particularly organizations  that advocate for children and animals. Those would be my top priorities. Of course, I would also take care of my parents and siblings, ensuring their security and well-being. I’d likely make a generous donation to Penn State University, with the hope of having the Shah name honored on one of their buildings. After that, I’d take my family on a world tour — we’ve always wanted to explore new places. My husband might have some other ideas, but hey, I won the lottery, so I get to call the shots!

What’s something – big or small – that you’re really bad at?

Running! If there is any danger, save yourself because I will be the weakest link and I’m ok with that.

Professional Questions
What was your first job?

My first job was working on a tobacco farm in rural North Carolina. My uncles were tobacco farmers, and I started driving the tractor and working in the barn when I was just 11 years old. I was the only female working alongside the field hands and my uncles, and it was a mix of hard work and camaraderie. We would rise before sunrise and work until noon, as the tobacco gum would turn to tar and become too sticky to handle. The work was tough, but we didn’t stop until the job was done. It was during those long days that I developed a strong work ethic that has stayed with me ever since.

What advice would you give to your younger self, from a professional perspective?

If I could give advice to my younger professional self, it would be to find a mentor early on and advocate more strongly for raises and promotions. Looking back, I realize that I worked in some challenging and even toxic environments, and I wish I had more guidance on how to navigate those situations. However, those experiences have shaped my approach to leadership today. As a manager, I focus on leading with a service mindset — my goal is to help my team become the best version of themselves, just as I wish I had been supported early in my career.

What’s one professional skill you’re currently working on?

One skill I’m actively working on is patience. It’s definitely a work in progress — it takes a lot of effort and deep breaths! I’m focusing on controlling my emotional responses, especially in high-stress situations, and learning to accept that things won’t always meet my expectations. The goal is to respond in a way that minimizes stress and helps resolve issues, rather than escalating them. It’s all about staying calm and composed, even when things don’t go as planned. Again, work in progress.

Values & Principles
Which BeyondID Core Value do you exhibit the most in work and life? Can you provide an example?

Raving Fan Culture. Building Raving Fans is essential. To keep a business thriving, you need loyal advocates — Raving Fans who will spread positive word-of-mouth. Unfortunately, bad news travels faster than good, so it’s crucial to consistently exceed expectations and turn every experience into a reason for people to speak highly of your brand.

When it comes to BeyondID Principles, which ones resonate with you the most?

Promote Ownership. This ties back to a strong work ethic and taking full responsibility for your tasks. Your reputation is built on your word — if you commit to something, follow through. Sometimes that means putting in extra hours to get the job done, but the key is always ensuring that the work is completed to the highest standard. Being accountable and dependable is what sets you apart.
