Gartner’s Market Guide for SaaS Management Platforms

While SaaS applications have their own native management consoles, the depth of their capabilities often doesn’t completely meet enterprise requirements. These limitations include insufficient reporting, coarse IT permissions, and burdensome administrative tasks that require significant manual effort.

Gartner has recognized a brand new market: SaaS management platforms (SMPs), which provide additional capabilities to fill these operational gaps. In their first-ever Market Guide for SaaS Management Platforms, Gartner has identified BetterCloud as a representative vendor.

Within the report, Gartner identifies six functional categories of SMPs including administration, role-based access control, policy management, license management, workflow automation, and reporting. BetterCloud offers solutions for all six categories across multiple SaaS apps and is purpose-built for IT.

INSIDE THE REPORT:

  • Why IT leaders should use SMPs to improve manageability and control of their SaaS apps
  • How SMPs compare and contrast with cloud access security brokers (CASBs) and SaaS-focused software asset management (SAM) tools
  • Analyst guidance for leaders responsible for optimizing IT operations for Office 365, G Suite, and other SaaS applications
  • How SMPs are analogous to traditional management tools such as group policy objects (GPOs), client management tools (CMTs), and enterprise mobility management (EMM) tools
